We’ve developed a special pizza pairing menu for a coopering evening in the Franciscan Well beer garden, featuring whiskey, wine & beer tastings.
Coopering is the ancient art of barrel-making – essential to developing the flavours of whiskey and wine. Expect an entertaining talk by Ger Buckley, Master Cooper at Jameson’s Midleton Distillery, as he dramatically demonstrates the ancient craft.
We’ll provide pizzas to pair with the drinks tastings including a wine, Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon, Jameson whiskeys Cooper’s Croze, Black Barrel, and Caskmates Stout Edition, and Franciscan Well brews, Rebel Red and Shandon Stout.
Our pizza pairing menu employs some of these tipples as ingredients. Additionally, we incorporated smoked, roasted, and charred elements to complement and enhance the flavours of drinks.
To whet your appetite, here is the pizza pairing menu for the event:
- Cabernet Sauvignon Chorizo
Tomato Sauce, Gubeen Chorizo roasted in Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon, Black Kalamata Olives, Toons Bridge Fior di Latte Mozzarella, Oregano
