It’s our 10th Birthday! We started out in 2009, and somehow a whole decade has passed! Join us to celebrate on Monday 4th November, at the Franciscan Well.
As a special birthday treat, we’re holding a ‘create your own pizza’ session where you can try your hand at making your own pizza. You’ll get to stretch the dough, add sauce, toppings, & cook your own creation. If you want to give it a go, book a ticket below.
As always, you can enjoy your favourite wood-fired goodness freshly baked for you. There are also a limited number of ‘free pizza’ tickets.
While tickets are limited, if you miss out you can still avail of the 10th birthday pizza promotion. Any pizza is €10 on the day for anyone who likes/shares/tags on our social pages. Find us on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter for details.
Keeping it Real and Rustic
Going through the old photos ahead of the birthday brings home how much has changed since 2009. We’ll be sharing some of the pics to show the evolution of Pompeii Pizza to the slick operation it is today.
The original incarnation of Pompeii Pizza was as a mobile wood-fired venture. So we were born on the road, and it’s been an interesting journey!
Our first stall was at the Fermoy Farmer’s Market. Over the next few years served slices of wood-fired goodness at numerous farmers markets, food fairs, and festivals throughout Cork, and further afield. Along the way, we refined our product, experimented with our processes, and got to know our suppliers and customers.
Within a couple of months of the inaugural market, a lucky coincidence led us to trial the idea of a pop-up pizzeria in the Franciscan Well’s beautiful beer garden, leading to a permanent fixture. More recently we’ve established a seasonal presence in Waterville, Co. Kerry.
We’ve come a long way since we sold our very first pizza, but but we’re still keeping it real and rustic.
